Men's Tennis Heads To Mercer To Begin Road Trip

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team begins a busy week that will feature three road matches. The Trojans kickoff off the week with a match a Mercer on Tuesday. Troy and Mercer will meet at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center at 1:30 p.m. (CT).
Troy and Mercer will meet for the first time since Jan. 14, 2017 when the two programs met in Tallahassee, Fla. as part of the Florida State Invitational. The Trojans were victorious in that match, earning a 4-3 decision.
Following Tuesday's match, Troy will travel to Corpus Christi, Texas to compete in the HEB Invitational. While in Corpus Christi Troy will play three matches between Friday and Saturday.
Trojan Notables
• Carles Anton remains perfect in singles this season with a 6-0 record. Four of those wins have come at the No. 2 spot with his latest win coming on court one.
• Pelayo Antuna is 6-2 on the season. He has won five matches on court one and another on court two.
• Vito Llinares currently leads the Trojans in wins with seven. On the year he is 7-1 with six wins coming on court four.
• Amer Bedwan and Llinares are 5-2 in doubles with Anton and Antuna also with five wins. The five wins for each pair are the top marks on the team.
