Amber Leggett Dubbed Sun Belt Player of the Week

TROY, Ala. – After leading Troy to a perfect 3-0-week, Amber Leggett was dubbed the Sun Belt Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
"Amber is consistent every day and has an outstanding attitude, great energy and relentless effort," head coach Chanda Rigby said. "She has played a big role in the success we have enjoyed so far this season. I'm so glad she is being honored with this award."
The Navarre, Fla., native opened up the week with a dominant 29-point performance off the bench, marking her third 20-plus point performance as a Trojan. Leggett also added 10 boards Wednesday, good for her first of two double-doubles.
Leggett then turned in another stellar performance, playing an integral part in Troy's win over Mississippi State. The junior scored 13 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. The contest was her sixth game with at least 10 points this season.
Leggett's noteworthy weekend continued on Sunday, where she led the team with 19 points and was just one rebound shy of a third double-double against South Carolina State.
On the weekend, Leggett averaged 20.3 points and 11.3 boards.
Leggett and the Trojans will return to action after the break when they open conference action at home against Coastal Carolina on Thursday, Dec. 30. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
