The Battle of Champions: Troy to Square Off Against Mercer

TROY, Ala. – The reigning Sun Belt Conference Tournament Champions travel to Macon, Ga., to square off against the reigning SoCon Conference Tournament Champions, Mercer, Monday night at Hawkins Arena.

These two squads have combined to win six of their conference's last nine tournament championships. Tipoff between the title holders is set for 6 p.m. from Hawkins Arena.

Storylines

Head coach Chanda Rigby is one win away from earning her 400th career win.
For the first time since the 2018-19 season, the Trojans (2-0) had eight different players knock down a shot from behind the arc in a single matchup as Amber Leggett, Brianna Harris, Za'Nautica Downs, Tina Stephens, Tiyah Johnson, Janiah Sandifer and Gabbi Cartagena all hit a three-pointer.
The Trojans scored 30 points off turnovers Thursday, the most since Jan. 23, 2021, against Coastal Carolina.
Troy has put together the toughest schedule in Rigby's tenure, with four games against Power Five opponents set to played on the road (Missouri, Duke, Wake Forest and Mississippi State).
The Trojans added four standout junior college transfers this past week in Tai'Sheka Porchia, Jashanti Simmons, Mesi Triplett and Ke'Aija Williams.
