Troy Soccer Falls at South Alabama

MOBILE, Ala. – Despite holding the Jaguars scoreless in the second half, Troy fell to South Alabama, 4-0, Friday at The Cage.
South Alabama (9-4-2, 5-2-2 Sun Belt) jumped out the gate with an aggressive offensive attack, recording seven shot attempts through the first 25 minutes.
Troy (5-8-1, 2-5-0 Sun Belt) goalkeeper Lindsey LaRoche picked up five saves and held the Jaguars scoreless until the 26th minute when Morgan Cross found the back of the net off a pass from Gracie Wilson.
Four minutes later, Danielle Fuentes advanced the Jaguar lead to two with 15 minutes left to play in the opening half.
Fuentes and Sydney Ham would each add a score before the end of the half to give South Alabama the eventual 4-0 win.
Troy's defense stayed anchored through the second half, holding the Jaguars scoreless despite 11 shot attempts; however, the Trojans offense couldn't mount a comeback.
Despite the loss, LaRoche matched her season-high eight saves. The freshman also recorded eight saves against Florida Atlantic, Jacksonville State and Georgia State.
