Howren, Boyd Garner Atlantic Sun All-Decade Team Honors

TROY, Ala. – Tamra Howren and Jenny Boyd received a nod from the Atlantic Sun Conference being named to the 30-woman All-Decade Team (2001-10) after standout careers spanning from 2002-05, the conference announced Tuesday.

The All-Decade Team is made up of individuals who competed in the ASUN for at least two seasons and obtained one of the following criteria: three First Team All-Conference selections, four All-Conference selections, multiple Scholar-Athlete/Player of the Year honors or ASUN Hall of Fame.

Players receiving post season awards such as player or pitcher of the year, three All-Conference selections or two First Team All-Conference selections were also included.

Howren

Howren lands on the All-Decade Team having rewritten the Troy softball record books with her performances at the plate.

Howren still holds five career batting statistic records, as well as two single-season records. The program's top career slugging percentage (.637), hit total (273), double total (67), home run total (52) and runs batted in total (202) all still belong to Howren.

Boyd

Similarly, Boyd has etched her name into Troy's career record book ranking third in hits (249) , sixth in career batting average (.334), sixth in games played (248), seventh in runs scored (137), and fifth in triples (12).

In her senior campaign, Boyd earned All-Conference team honors leading Troy at the plate batting a .387 clip and leading the ASUN in hits (79) and triples (9) heading into the conference tournament.
