Trojans Poised For Two Midweek Contests Against UAB, Alabama A&M

TROY, Ala. – The Troy baseball team returns to action with a pair of midweek games Tuesday at UAB and at home Wednesday against Alabama A&M. The Trojans are in the midst of a stretch that finds them playing eight games in 10 days, seven of which are away from the friendly confines of Riddle-Pace Field.

Troy looks to get back on track after a hard-fought series against the No. 1 Florida Gators. The Trojans showed promise against the nation's top-team propelled by one of the nation's best offenses. Troy ranks in the top ten nationally in runs (107) and hits (136).
Extra-base hits are once again a staple in the Trojan offense. Troy leads the country with 41 doubles on the year, eight of which have been hit by Caleb Bartolero, an individual mark that also leads the nation.
Drew Frederic has scored 167 runs in his career, the most of all active Division I players. The senior is batting .354 and has scored 14 runs this season.
Austin Garofalo is seeing the ball well at the plate and is coming off a 4-10 weekend swinging the bat. Rigsby Mosley has been solid in the leadoff role and has reached base in all 12 games this season.
Bay Witcher will start on the mound Tuesday against UAB while Max Newton will get the nod Wednesday against Alabama A&M.
SCOUTING UAB
UAB is off to a 5-6 start to the year, but the Blazers have won four of their last five. Thomas Johns leads UAB with a .310 average while J Paul Fullerton has a team-best 11 RBIs. Senior Austin Bohannan (0-2) is expected to make the start on the mound for the Blazers. The lefty has a 1.88 ERA in three appearances this season.
SCOUTING ALABAMA A&M
Alabama A&M is 3-10 on the year but got in the win column with three-straight wins against Mississippi Valley State. JanMikell Bastardo is hitting .333 on the year with three doubles and five RBIs. Dillon Roop has a team-best 10 RBIs this season.
