Trojans Grab Win over Wildcats to Wrap Up Road Trip

TROY, Ala. –Troy women's tennis traveled to Daytona Beach, Florida to take on the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats, where the Trojans came away victorious 7-0, and saw strong performances from freshman Shevita Aulana and sophomore Chunxi Guo.

Doubles

• In the number two doubles Matea Mihaljevic and Shevita Aulana faced off against Hall and Egalite of Bethune-Cookman, where the Trojans won 6-0.
• In the number one doubles Anastasiia Khokhlova and Anastasiia Khrustaleva took on Smith and Thomas of the Lady Wildcats, where the pair won 6-1 to clinch the doubles point for the Trojans.

Singles

• In number five singles Tijana Svitlica defeated Thompson of Bethune-Cookman after Thompson retired after two points, giving the Trojans their first singles point and an overall 2-0 lead.
• The second singles match that concluded on the afternoon was in number two singles, where Anastasiia Khokhlova defeated Thomas of Bethune-Cookman and came away with a 6-0, 6-3 victory. This gave the Trojans a 3-0 singles lead on the day.
• The third match that concluded on the morning came from number three singles, where Chunxi Guo defeated Hall of Bethune-Cookman 6-1, 6-3. This match made the score 4-0 in favor of the Trojans.
• The fourth match that concluded came from number one singles where Matea Mihaljevic extended her win streak to three straight when she defeated Smith 6-1, 6-2. This match made the score 5-0 in favor of the Trojans.
