Trojans Take Down In-State Rival North Alabama

TROY, Ala. –Troy women's tennis returned home on Friday to take on the North Alabama Lions. In the match Troy walked away with 6-1 win over the Lions with strong performances from the doubles pair of Matea Mihaljevic and Shevita Aulana to start the day off in the right direction.

Doubles
• In the number one doubles Anastasiia Khokholova and Anastasiia Khrustaleva faced Sydney Flesch and Nina Linke of North Alabama, where the Trojans won the match 6-4.
• The second match in doubles play that concluded came from the number three doubles where Chunxi Guo and Tijana Svitlica faced off against Lee-Taylor Bishop and Kalais Going, which saw the Trojans taking the match 6-4. This Troy win clinched the doubles point for the Trojans on the day.
• In the number two doubles Matea Mihaljevic and Shevita Aulana took on Kalais Going and Nicole Reilly of North Alabama, where the Trojans fell by a score of 4-6.

Singles
• In number six singles Anastasiia Khrustaleva faced off against Nicole Reilly , which saw Khrustaleva taking the match 6-1, 6-0 to give Troy a 2-0 lead.
•The second singles match that concluded on the afternoon Anastasiia Khokhlova take on Nina Linke in number two singles. Khokhlova took the match 6-0, 6-1 giving Troy a 3-0 lead.
• The third match that concluded on the afternoon came from number three singles, where Chunxi Guo grabbed a singles victory 6-1, 6-2 over Kalais Going to give Troy the 4-0 lead and clinch the match for the Trojans.
• The fourth match that concluded came from number four singles saw Shevita Aulana defeat Elise Sickle 6-2, 6-3 to give Troy a 5-0 lead on the afternoon.
• In number one singles Matea Mihaljevic faced off against Sydney Flesch in the most entertaining match of the afternoon as Flesch pushed Matea to three sets, but Matea ended up winning the match 6-3, 2-6, 10-5.
• Tijana Svitlica fell to Megan Humphreys 7-5, 6-3 to give the Lions a point to make the score 5-1.
