Trojans Fall in their First Game of the Two-Game Road Trip

TROY, Ala. –Troy women's tennis traveled to Deland, Florida to take on the Stetson Hatters, where the Trojans fell 5-2, but saw strong performances from Matea Mihaljevic and Anastasiia Khokhlova in the loss.

Doubles

• In the number three doubles Tijana Svitlica and Chunxi Guo faced off against Vicky Geurinckx and Noa Cohen of Stetson, where the Trojans fell 6-1.
• The second match in doubles play that concluded came from the number two doubles where Matea Mihaljevic and Shevita Aulana faced off against Brooke Milner and Laia Pasini, which saw the Hatters taking the match 6-3. This Stetson doubles win clinched the doubles point for the Hatters on the day.
• In the number one doubles Anastasiia Khokhlova and Anastasiia Khrustaleva took on Danel Ashirova and Lucie Renault, but play was concluded due to Stetson clinching the doubles point in number two doubles. Play concluded at 4-3 in favor of the Hatters.

SIngles

• In number three singles Lucie Renault faced off against Chunxi Guo, which saw Renault taking the match 6-1, 6-2 to give Stetson a 2-0 lead.
•The second singles match that concluded on the afternoon Tijana Svitlica take on Vicky Geurinckx in number five doubles. Geurinchx took the match 6-0, 6-2 giving Stetson a 3-0 lead.
• The third match that concluded on the morning came from number one singles, where Matea Mihaljevic extended her singles win streak to two with a win over Danel Ashirova 6-1, 6-1. This match made the score 3-1 in favor of the Hatters.
• The fourth match that concluded came from number two singles where Anastasiia Khokhlova extended her win streak in singles to two with a 6-3, 7-5 over Brooke Milner to make the score 3-2 in favor of Stetson.
• Shevita Aulana fell to Noa Cohen 6-4, 6-3 to clinch the match for the Hatters at a score of 4-2.
• In number six singles saw the most competitive match of the morning where Anastasiia Khrustaleva faced off against Laia Pasini and Khrustaleva pushed Pasini to three sets, but fell 6-3, 5-7, 0-1. Play concluded due to Stetson clinching the match.
