TROY, Ala. – Leanna Johnson posted zeros in all seven innings of action to power Troy past McNeese State, 5-0, and earn her fifth shutout of the season Wednesday at the Troy Softball Complex. Â

Johnson (7-2) blanked the Cowgirls fanning seven batters and scattering three hits in route to her fifth shutout of the season, 12th of her career.

The Trojans (11-4) hopped on the board early scoring five runs on the bottom of the first inning.

Katie Lively kick-started Troy's offense scoring Candela Figueroa who led off with a hit by pitch. Kelly Horne scored Lively with a double to deep center field to keep the scoring rolling.

Meagan Patterson topped off the Trojan's five-run affair smashing her first long ball over the left-center field wall.

Johnson put up zeros through the next six innings to solidify Troy's 11th win of the season.

Alexsandra Flores (3-2) suffered the loss for McNeese State (14-3) allowing five runs off four hits and a hit by pitch.

- Troy's underclassmen continue to drive the offense recording all five of the Trojans' RBI.
