ORLANDO, Fla. – Leanna Johnson pitched a two-hitter to power Troy past Villanova, 5-1, Sunday in the finale of the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic at ESPN Wide World of Sports.

Johnson (6-2) picks up her sixth win of the season scattering just two hits and fanning eight batters.

The Trojans (10-3) used home runs to score all five runs of the ball game.

In the top of the second inning, Candela Figueroa blasted her second home run of the season sending a two-run shot over the left-field wall.

Kelly Horne smashed her second long ball of the season with a three-run homer in the top of the fifth inning.

The Wildcats (8-7) broke their scoreless streak in the bottom of the fifth inning when Caroline Jones hit a solo home run.

Paige Rauch (7-2) suffered the loss for Villanova allowing five runs, seven hits and a walk.

"Overall, I was just really happy with our grit and our ability to live pitch to pitch, especially in our last three games. We were better at a lot of things we had been working on over the week. It's a long season, and we are just going to continue to trust the process and play one game at a time."

Notable

Libby Baker led the Trojans offensively this weekend batting a .500 mark with a double, a home run and four RBI.
Four Trojans blasted home runs this weekend. Horne, Figueroa and Sinness lead the team with two home runs apiece.
In Troy's win over Morgan State on Saturday, six of the Trojans' 13 hits were for extra bases.

Troy heads back home for a midweek contest with McNeese State on Wednesday, February 26. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Troy Softball Complex.
