Men's Tennis Wins HEB Invitational Tournament

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team leaves the peninsula of Corpus Christi, Texas as HEB Invitational Tournament Champions. The Trojans earned their second win of the tournament Saturday morning with a 4-0 victory over UT Rio Grande Valley.
The Trojans picked up right where they left off on Friday with a dominating doubles performance with quick victories from Carles Anton and Pelayo Antuna on court two followed by a court one win from Christopher Tasker and Oskar Michalek. This was the first time during the HEB Invite that Troy won the doubles point.
Troy started singles with a 1-0 advantage and never let off the gas once singles play started. The Trojans got a dominate performance from senior Oskar Michalek on court three who breezed to a 6-0, 6-2 win. Anton, making his No. 1 singles debut, picked up the straight sets victory to remain perfect in singles matches this season with a 6-4, 6-2 decision. Troy clinched the match on court five as Javier Llinares with a hard fought 7-6, 6-2 victory.
