Notes: Women's Basketball Hosts Chattanooga in Midweek Tilt

TROY, Ala. – Coming off a record setting performance Monday night, the Troy women's basketball team will have to switch gears in a hurry as it prepares to host the Mocs of Chattanooga on Wednesday, Dec. 9 inside Trojan Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for noon.

DECEMBER IS KIND TO TROY
Troy has been nearly unbeatable in the month of the December. The Trojans have won 10 straight in the month and 12 of their last 13 in December. Their last loss in the month was Dec. 4, 2018 against Middle Tennessee.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
Alexus Dye and Tiyah Johnson have been causing havoc for opposing defenses this season. Through the first three games, the duo has combined to score 116 of the teams 281 points (.413). Johnson leads all scorers at 20 points per game while Dye is following closely behind with 18.7 per game.
YOUTH MOVEMENT
Troy's five freshman made an impact off the bench for the Trojans on Monday. The group combined to score 51 of the teams 131 points. Leading the way was Janiah Ellis who scored 15, followed by 13 from Sharonica Hartsfield, 10 from Samira Moore, nine from Jelissa Reese and four from Kennedi White. Sophomore newcomers Dominique Camp and Agustina Talasimov added seven and two points respectively.
INSIDE THE STATS
The Trojans find themselves ranked near the top of the national rankings in a few statistical categories. Troy currently ranks fourth in rebounds per game (52.7), 10th in scoring averaging (93.7) and fifth in three-point percentage (49%).
MOST POINTS SCORED
Troy's 131 points is the most scored in a single game in program history. It is also the most points scored in a game this season nationally.
30 POINTS ARE RARE
Tiyah Johnson's 30-point performance is one to remember as they don't tend to come around often. Johnson is the first Trojan since 2016 to score 30 points in a game.
QUICK TURNAROUND
Troy won't have much time to prepare for its next opponent as they are set to host Chattanooga on Wednesday at noon. Although Troy will be playing in its fourth game of the season, the Mocs will only be playing in their second game of the season.
MAY I ASSIST YOU
Troy has tallied 59 assists through three games, highlighted by a 28-assist performance against LaGrange, second most in a game since 2015. Their 59 total assists are the most for a Trojan team through three game since the 2015-16 team opened the year with 65 assists through three games and 111 through five.
STARTING OUT HOT
The Trojans will be going for win number three on the young season on Wednesday. With a win it will be the fifth consecutive season that Troy has started the year 3-1.

• The Mocs enter Wednesday with a record of 0-1 after falling to UAB 58-78 on Dec. 6
• Bria Dial leads the Mocs in scoring at 20.0 points per game. She is the only player on their roster averaging double-digits with the next closest averaging just seven points
• The Mocs are coached by Katie Burrows who is in her 3rd season at the helm. She boasts a 25-36 overall record and am 18-10 record in the SOCON
