MOBILE, Ala. – Following the 2020 Sun Belt Championships, Gracie Booher, Cadi Rowe and Macki Walsh were dubbed members of the cross country All-Sun Belt team Saturday.
Â
Gracie Booher and Macki Walsh were tabbed members of the Second Team All-Sun Belt squad after placing inside of the top ten while Cadi Rowe's 11th-place finish landed her on the Third Team All-Sun Belt.
Â
Booher was the only freshman at the Sun Belt Championships to finish inside of the top ten. The Auburn, Ala. native has been one of Troy's top three finishers in all four meets this season, highlighted by a third-place finish in the season opener.
Â
"Gracie's performance reflects the amazing potential of the program if we continue to do things the right way," head coach Elliott Blount said. "She is learning so much about racing and more importantly herself. I'm humbled by the work she puts into every aspect of her life."
Â
Walsh closed out her Troy career in style, posting a sixth-place finish in the conference championships. Her time of 17:38.80 was good for a 5k personal best. The senior led Troy in all four races of the season, notching her best finish at the Azalea City Classic where she placed second.
Â
"Macki's sixth-place finish embodies the growth of our program," Blount said. "A deeper look at her performances at this meet over the years will show you this. She has a keen ability to get the most out of herself on the bigger stages."Â
Â
Rowe finds herself on the Third Team All-Sun Belt after finishing just outside of the top ten to round out Troy's top-three performances. The sophomore finished 11th in 18:07.70 for a 5k personal record.
Â
"Cadi has been the most consistent and competitive cross country runner that I've worked with at Troy throughout her two seasons. She is extremely coachable with a bright future ahead of her."
Â
The Sun Belt will release the remained of the post season awards early next week.
