Men's Tennis Wraps Up Day One at MTSU & Mercer

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team was split between two tournaments to open the 2020 fall season on Friday. Half the team traveled to Murfreesboro, Tenn. to compete in the Dale Short Shootout while the other half traveled to Macon, Ga. to compete in the Mercer Gridiron Classic.

The Trojans began their first two scheduled fall events on Friday between the Dale Short Shootout and the Mercer Classic. In Murfreesboro three Trojans made the debuts wearing the Cardinal and White in Joaquin Bianchi, Nicolas Rodriguez and Francisco Erramuspe. While a core of returners took to the courts in Macon, Ga.

Bianchi and Amer Bedwan were the lone Trojans to pick up a doubles victory on Friday while Manuel Bernard earned Troy's only singles win in Tennessee. At the Mercer Classic it was the pair of Christopher Tasker and Vito Llinares who found success in doubles after going 2-0 on the day. Llinares and Selma also had success in singles matches on Friday, each picking up their first victories of the new season.
