Troy to Celebrate Extra Yard for Teachers on Sept. 28

TROY, Ala. – Troy Athletics, in conjunction with the College Football Playoff, will celebrate Extra Yard for Teachers when the Trojans play host to Arkansas State on Sept. 28 at The Vet; kickoff is set for 5 p.m. Teachers will be the guests of honor before and during the game with special events throughout the day.
Leading up to the game, Troy Athletics will deliver school supplies to teachers at schools throughout Pike County including Troy Elementary, Covenant Christian, New Life Christian, Banks School, Pike Liberal Arts, Pike County Elementary, Goshen Elementary and Zion Chapel.
Additionally, Troy Athletics will provide tickets to the game to teachers at those schools while local teachers beyond Pike County may request up to four (4) complimentary tickets by contacting Alex Watts at 334-670-3384 or awatts177036@troy.edu. All teachers in attendance will be recognized during the game both on the field and from the stands.
A special tailgate party will take place prior to the game in Tailgate Terrace from 2-4 p.m. with food and drinks available for teachers and their families while supplies last. The first 500 teachers to attend the tailgate will receive a free Troy T-shirt. Troy's Kid's Zone will be expanded for this week with a number of inflatables located throughout the outfield of Riddle-Pace Field.
All of Troy's incentives for Extra Yard for Teachers are made possible thanks to a grant which Troy Athletics received from the College Football Playoff.
