TROY, Ala. – Troy junior punter Evan Crenshaw was named to the Sporting News All-America First Team on Wednesday after a season in which he was a finalist for the Ray Guy Award and earned Sun Belt Conference Special Teams Player of the Year honors.
Crenshaw is the first Trojan to earn first team All-America honors from one of the NCAA's consensus All-America selectors since Leodis McKelvin earned the distinction from Sporting News following the 2007 season. He joins McKelvin and Kimani Vidal, who earned third team All-America honors in 2023 from the Associated Press, as the only Trojans to receive All-America recognition at the FBS level.
A native of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Crenshaw averaged 45.7 yards per punt during the 2025 season, the second-highest single-season average in program history (on 43 more attempts than the top average of 46.1 yards). He placed 29 of his 68 punts inside the 20-yard line, the most in the nation, and recorded 21 punts of 50 yards or longer.
Crenshaw earned Ray Guy National Punter of the Week honors following his performance at Buffalo. Additionally, he pinned Southern Miss inside the 10-yard line three times and completed a pass on a fake punt in Troy's Sun Belt West-clinching victory and downed a punt at the 12-yard line, setting up a sack and a defensive touchdown in the Trojans' bowl game against Jacksonville State.
