Need to Know – What’s On Tap at The Vet for Season Opener

TROY, Alabama – It is hard to believe, but football season is just 16 days away and The Vet will be rocking on Saturday, Aug. 31, when Troy plays host to Campbell at 5 p.m. in the season opener. Fans will be treated to a variety of different promotions and events before and during the game to help usher in the new season.
Fan Promotions
United in Cardinal
All TROY Fans are asked to wear Cardinal for the Home Opener. Fans may also purchase this year's One TROY T-shirt that was voted on by the fans by visiting the Barnes & Noble Bookstore during the week of the game as well as on gameday.
Tailgate Terrace Pregame Concert
This year's Tailgate Terrace Pregame Concert Series will be kicked off by local artist Gabe Meredith. A fixture throughout the Troy live music scene, Meredith makes his debut as part of the concert series that is open for all fans to enjoy prior to the game.
Freshman Run
As part of an annual tradition, all incoming Troy University students will be able to participate in the Freshman Run prior to the start of the game. Students will gather outside of the Tine Davis Fieldhouse before running through the T formed by the Sound of the South prior to the game. As a reminder, all Troy students receive free admission to all home games with their student ID.
Talladega College Marching Band
Special appearance by the Talladega College Marching Band as part of the home opener in conjunction with the Sound of the South. Both bands will perform during Halftime and throughout the game.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day
All Troy University Faculty and Staff members are eligible to receive one (1) complimentary ticket to the game as well as purchase additional tickets at a reduced price. Faculty and Staff members will receive an email to their Troy email accounts with details about how to take advantage of this offer. Members of the Troy Alumni Association may take advantage of a $10 price for reserved tickets on the West Side of the stadium in Sections 204 and 206. Alumni Association members will receive a special promo code to take advantage of this offer.

All Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts are invited to come join us for Boy Scouts Day at The Vet. Tickets start at $8 for all scouts as well as for their family and friends. Special Olympics Day
Members of the Alabama Special Olympics are invited to come join us as our guests as we recognize this tremendous group of athletes at The Vet. To reserve your tickets, please contact Kyle George at kylegeorge@troy.ed uor (334) 670-5650.
First Responders Appreciation Day
All First Responders are invited to take part in a special recognition during the game for their service to our local community. First Responders are invited to a pregame tailgate that will be held in Tailgate Terrace and may request up to four (4) Community Hero Tickets per family. To request Community Hero Tickets, please email Kyle George at kylegeorge@troy.edu.
Varsity Cheer Clinic
Pregame Cheer Clinic held by Varsity in Trojan Arena for Middle School and High School Cheerleaders. Participants will receive a t-shirt, interact with the Troy Cheerleaders, take part in Trojan Walk and perform on the field prior to the game.
