Jacksonville, Fla. – Troy track & field began competition at the NCAA East Preliminary Round held at Hodges Stadium at the University of North Florida on Thursday evening.Â

Daquan Coleman led the action for Troy in the 400m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 58.27 seconds. Jared Hayes ran in the 100m race and finished in 10.64 seconds.Â

Niata Alexander was the last Trojan to compete in day one of the prelims as she ran the 400m dash in 54.41 seconds.Â

Casimir Tawiah (110m hurdles), Alexander (200m), Hayes (200m) and Matthew Likely (200m) will compete on Friday.Â
