Connor Futrell Named to All-Sun Belt Men’s Golf Team

TROY, Alabama – Troy sophomore Connor Futrell has been named to the All-Sun Belt Men's Golf Third Team, the league office announced Thursday afternoon.

Futrell, a native of Tallahassee, Fla., paced the Trojans with a 73.31 stroke average on the season and with seven rounds under par – his next closest teammate had four rounds in the red. He finished the season with a 1.54 score vs. par and turned in a top-25 finish in six of Troy's nine tournaments including a 15^th-place finish at the Sun Belt Championship.

Futrell was Troy's top finisher in four events over the course of the season thanks in part to strong opening rounds as he posted a 71.44 scoring average over his nine opening rounds. He shot rounds in the 60s on three different occasions including a pair of 4-under 67s – the lowest rounds of the season by a Troy golfer.

Through two seasons at the collegiate level, Futrell has a career 74.04 stroke average with 13 career rounds under par.
