Troy Hits the Road for Midweek Rivalry Matchup

TROY, Alabama – Troy looks to extend its 11-game win streak to match the program's longest with a midweek in-state matchup against rival South Alabama. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Jaguar Field.

The Trojans (29-13, 11-4 Sun Belt) come into the game on a hot 11-game win streak that dates back to Troy's series sweep over Coastal Carolina. Troy swept back-to-back-to-back conference series with wins over Coastal Carolina, UT Arlington and Georgia State for the first time since 2005 when Troy was a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Talia Truitt leads the offensive efforts for Troy batting a .357 with a double and 3 RBIs. Kaylee Hussey continues to dominate at the plate batting a .275 with five home runs and 29 RBIs. Hussey ranks second in the league in doubles with 10.

Leanna Johnson continues to dazzle in the circle picking up four wins this past week including her first career no hitter on Sunday. Johnson currently ranks third in the nation in victories with 20 and 17^th in strikeouts with 163.

Scouting South Alabama
The Jaguars (12-24, 2-13) come into the matchup after dropping all three game in their series against Coastal Carolina this past weekend. Brittani Reid leads the efforts at the plate batting a .380 with nine doubles, a triple, six home runs and 15 RBIs.

Alexis Reid spends the majority of the time in the circle for the Jaguars and leads the pitching staff in wins with eight. Reid has recorded 61 strikeouts over 134 innings of work.
