Georgia Southern Battles Past Troy in Regular Season Finale

STATESBORO, Georgia – Troy was defeated by Georgia Southern, 4-3, on Sunday at the Wallis Tennis Complex to wrap up regular season play.

Georgia Southern's Elizabeth Goines came back from one set down to defeat Troy's Maria Casas Blas, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 to secure the victory for the Eagles. Troy finishes the regular season 10-10 (4-5 SBC), while Georgia Southern improved to 12-12 (4-6) on the year. The Eagles came from behind to win two of their four singles wins.

DOUBLES
• De Winter and Bujan defeated Pei Ju Hsieh and Chunxi Guo, 6-2, to open double play.
• Celia Montero Estevan and Maria Casas Blas leveled things up with a 6-4 win over Lindsay Truscott and Charlotte Van Diemen, 6-4.
• Matea Mihaljevic and Tingting Pei defeated Paula Boixander and Luisa Hrda, 6-4, to secure the doubles match point for the Trojans.

SINGLES
• Hrda defeated Celia Estevan, 6-4, 6-2 to even the match at 1-1.
• Matea Mihaljevic put down Arianne De Winter, 6-4, 6-4 to give the Trojans a 2-1 lead.
• Tingting Pei battled back to defeat Emilia Bujan on court two, 1-6, 6-1, 6-1.
• Mila Hartig defeated Chunxi Guo, 7-6, 6-0.
• Boixander tied the match for the Panthers with a victory over Pei Ju Hsieh, 5-7, 6-0,
6-2.
• Goines topped Maria Casas Blas to secure the match victory for the Panthers, 2-6,
6-3, 6-3.
