PEACHTREE CITY, Georgia – Troy's season came to an end with a 4-0 loss to No. 2 South Alabama in the Sun Belt Conference Championships at the Peachtree City Tennis Center Thursday.

South Alabama (20-4) battled to take the doubles point after Maria Casas Blas and Celia Montero Estevan took the opening match, 6-2. The Jaguars won on court one and two to steal the point.

The Jaguars didn't waste any time in singles action winning three straight points to clinch the match. In the decisive match Matea Mihaljevic was downed by Alexandria Stiteler, 6-3, 7-5, at first singles.

The Trojans finish the season 10-11 overall and 4-5 in Sun Belt play.

DOUBLES
• Casas Blas and Estevan defeated Takanishi and Kohoutova, 6-2, to kick off doubles action.
• Yu Fujioka and Milka Pasanen pulled the Jaguars level with a 6-2 win over Pei Ju Hsieh and Chunxi Guo, just the fifth loss of the season for the duo.
• South Alabama locked up the doubles point when Alexandria Stiteler and Patricia Martins knocked off Tingting Pei and Mihlajevic, 6-0, at second doubles.

SINGLES
• Pasanen gave USA a 2-1 advantage in the match with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Estevan at fourth singles.
• Martins was rock solid in her 6-3, 6-0 victory over Chunxi Guo at fifth singles.
• Stiteler held on late to clinch the match for the Jaguars, 6-3, 7-5, over Mihaljevic.
