TROY, Alabama – The Troy men's golf team heads to Shoal Creek in Birmingham on Monday and Tuesday for its final tournament before the Sun Belt Conference Championship. A loaded field at the Shoal Creek Invitational awaits the Trojans.
Among the 15-team field are No. 12 LSU, No. 13 Auburn, No. 15 North Florida, No. 22 Tennessee and No. 24 Alabama. Teams will play 18 holes on Monday and 36 holes on Tuesday after heavy storms saturated the course Sunday.
Troy is coming off a solid performance at the UNA Spring Classic where the Trojans placed fourth overall paced by a pair of 10th-place finishes including one from Jake Tiffin. Tiffin carries a 76.29 stroke average into Shoal Creek but has two of Troy's three top 10s this season.
Connor Futrell leads Troy with a 73.35 average and 1.50 score vs. par on the year thanks in part to his team-leading five rounds under par. Dean Martin (2.00) is the lone Trojan to have all his rounds count towards the team card (17-of-17).
Brent Hamm will be called on for the fifth time this year and he carries a 3.18 score vs par as a true freshman while Will McFadden, another freshman, makes his eighth appearance of the year and totes a 3.90 score vs. par.

The storms that rolled through Alabama on Sunday morning caused a change to the schedule. Teams will now play 18 holes on Monday and 36 holes on Tuesday. Troy will play the opening round with UAB and Charlotte beginning at 12 p.m. starting on No. 1.
