Troy Tennis Stumbles at Georgia State

CLARKSTON, Georgia – Troy women's tennis faltered late in singles action dropping a 4-1 decision at Georgia State Saturday.
The Trojans (10-9, 4-4 SBC) were swept in doubles play, but rebounded with Celia Montero Estevan's 6-2, 6-0 victory to open singles action. However, the Panthers (9-11, 4-5) took the next three points to claim the match sealed by Anastasia Grosheva's 7-6, 6-3 win over Maria Casas Blas on court six.
DOUBLES
• Grosheva and Lara Vovk downed Estevan and Casas Blas on court three to open doubles play.
• The Panthers clinched the double point behind a 6-4 decision by Eva Chivu and Daniela Ramirez over Troy's Chunxi Guo and Pei Ju Hsieh. It was just the third doubles loss of the season for the Trojan duo.
SINGLES
• Estevan looked in complete control tying the match at a point apiece with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Vovk on court four.
• Georgia State regained the lead with a 7-5, 6-0 win by Ramirez over Tinting Pei on court two.
• Damira Muminovic defeated Hsieh, 6-2, 6-4.
• Grosheva clinched the match for the Panthers, 7-6, 6-3, over Casas Blas.
