Troy Welcomes Alabama State for In-State Matchup

TROY, Alabama – The Trojans look to continue their seven-game win streak with an in-state midweek matchup against Alabama State on Tuesday night. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at the Troy Softball Complex.

Troy (25-13) comes into the game on a seven-game win streak dating back to the series sweep over Coastal Carolina. The Trojans then downed North Alabama in a midweek tilt and swept UT Arlington this past weekend.

Katie Webb continues to lead the offensive efforts batting a .360 with six doubles, a triple, a home run, and 22 RBIs. Madeline Porter batted .600 last week after going 6-for-10 with two doubles while Kaylee Hussey added four more RBIs to her resume after recording four hits including a double and a three-run home run.

Leanna Johnson dazzled in the circle last week recording a 0.32 ERA and picking up three wins after sitting down 11 batters and scattering 12 hits. Johnson comes into the week ranked 10^th nationally in victories with 10, 17^th nationally in strikeouts with 142 and 29^th nationally in shutouts with four.

Scouting Alabama State
The Hornets come into the matchup 16-13 overall after taking the series 2-1 over Jacksonville State last weekend. Alexis Snydor leads the offensive efforts batting a .440 with six doubles, two triples, three home runs and 21 RBIs.

Justine Jean has seen the majority of the time in the circle for the Hornets. Jean has recorded a 4.52 ERA over 89.2 innings of work with 55 strikeouts.
