Troy, Ala. – Troy men's basketball begins its final road swing of the regular season when it takes on Appalachian State on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN+.Â

The Trojans (11-17, 4-12 Sun Belt) are coming off a 79-66 loss to UT Arlington in their final regular-season home game. Troy had four players in double figures, but the Mavericks shot 52.7 percent (29-of-55) on the evening to keep Troy in check.Â

In the game, junior Charles Norman led the Trojans with 15 points on four three-pointers made in a career-high 28 minutes of action off the bench. Sophomore Darian Adams followed behind with 13 points, two rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.

On the season, Troy currently sits second in the Sun Belt Conference in blocks per game averaging 4.6. Senior Alex Hicks paces the team in points per game (12.4) on 51.5 percent (135-262) shooting and in rebounds per game (8.1) which is the fourth-most in conference. Hicks is pulling down 8.3 rebounds per game in conference play, fourth in conference.

Sophomore Javan Johnson also averages double figures with 10.3 points per game. Sophomore Darian Adams leads the team in assists per game averaging 3.4. In conference action, Adams is averaging 4.2 assists per game, seventh-most in conference.

App State took down Louisiana, 90-80 inside of the Cajundome on Sunday afternoon. After the win, App State improved to 10-19 on the season and 5-11 in conference play. The Mountaineers are one game ahead of Troy in the conference standings.Â

In the game, five Mountaineers racked up double figures led by senior Ronshad Shabazz with 20 points while junior Hunter Seacat posted 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a block. Senor Tyrell Johnson added 15 points and three rebounds off the bench.

On the season, Shabazz leads the team in points per game (18.8) sixth in conference while junior Isaac Johnson paces the team and the Sun Belt in rebounds per game, averaging 8.9.

Thursday's matchup marks the 12th-ever meeting between the two teams. App State holds a 7-4 advantage with the Trojans winning four of the last five. Troy struggled from the field in a 65-54 loss in the last meeting in Boone Feb. 17, 2018.
