Men’s Golf Finishes Ninth at ECU Intercollegiate

Final Results
GREENVILLE, N.C. – Connor Futrell shot a 2-over 74 to lead Troy in Tuesday's final round of the ECU Intercollegiate at the Brook Valley Country Club. Futrell tied for 14thplace overall to pace the Trojans for the second straight week; Troy finished ninth in the 12-team field.
Futrell played both sides of the course to a 1-over 37 card with a pair of birdies on the front nine and one on the back. He has now led the Trojans in three of their six events this season after shooting 6-over for the tournament.
Dean Martin carded a trio of birdies on the day and finished the event with nine birdies for the ninth most in the field. He finished with a three-round total of 11-over to tie for 24thplace; his third top-25 finish in five events this year.
Teams faced a 6-10 mile-per-hour wind all day and temperatures that hovered just above the freezing mark. The conditions took a toll on the field as scores soared to an average round of 77.34, the highest of the tournament.
Will McFadden tied for 46thplace overall at 18-over following a round of 81 on Tuesday, while Eli Charron finished in 69thplace after shooting 83 in the final round and Jake Tiffin rounded out the field for the Trojans in 70thplace.
The Trojans will take a few weeks off before heading to Muscle Shoals for the UNA Spring Classic on March 25-26.
