Home Runs Push Louisiana Past Troy in Game Two

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – A walk off two-run home run by Julie Rawls powered Louisiana past Troy in the series-clinching Saturday afternoon game at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park.
Julie Rawls' two-run home run scored the eighth run of the game to close out the game in six innings.
Summer Ellyson (16-3) picked up her second win of the weekend after scattering two hits and recording four strikeouts.
Louisiana (22-5, 5-0) struck first in the bottom of the first inning with a single to center field by Rawls that scored Kara Gremillion who walked.
Kaylee Hussey caught Louisiana's Keeli Milligan stealing in the bottom of the first inning to end Milligan's stealing streak. Prior to the game, Milligan was 32-for-32 in stolen base attempts.
The Ragin' Cajuns offense still kept rolling adding three more runs in the bottom of the third with a three-run shot by Sarah Hudek.
In the bottom of the fifth, hits by Raina O'Neal and Alissa Dalton gave Louisiana a 6-0 advantage that set up Rawls for the game ending home run.
Annie Willis (5-6) suffered the loss for Troy (18-11, 2-3) after giving up eleven hits and five walks. Bailey Taylor and Kaylee Hussey recorded Troy's two hits of the game.
Troy looks to bounce back in the series finale Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m.
