TROY, Alabama – Troy defeated Grambling State, 7-0, on Friday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex to wrap up its non-conference slate.
Troy's Celia Montero Estevan defeated Grambling State's Martinez, 6-0, 6-2, to secure a victory for the Trojans. The Trojans have won two straight and improved to 6-5 on the year while Grambling State fell to 2-8. Troy opens Sun Conference play Saturday against Texas State.
DOUBLES
• Estevan and Maria Casas Blas defeated Longwe and Galeano, 6-1.
• Chunxi Guo and Pei Ju Hsieh pick up the doubles match point over Burts and Martinez, 6-1.
• Tingting Pei and Matea Mihaljevic secured a victory over Muswere and Magunje, 6-1.
SINGLES
• Pei secured a victory to open up singles play, 6-2, 6-0, over Longwe.
• Guo defeated Magunje, 6-0, 6-0.
• Estevan secured the match victory for the Trojans, 6-0, 6-2 over Martinez.
• Mihaljevic handled business on court two, 6-2, 6-0 over Burts.
