Troy Set to Take on No. 8 LSU

TROY, Alabama- The Troy softball team heads to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to take on ninth ranked LSU in a midweek tilt on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Tiger Park. LSU will be the third ranked opponent and fifth SEC opponent that Troy has squared off against.

Troy (18-8) comes into the matchup off of a series win over ULM.

Leanna Johnson threw a one-hitter over the Warhawks in the first game of the series and closed out the series by scattering four hits and one run. Johnson enters the week ranked sixth nationally in strikeouts with 113 and fifth nationally in victories with 12.

Stephanie Snyder is coming off of a hot weekend where she led the offensive efforts going 4-for-9 with a double, a home run, and two RBIs.

Katie Webb also enters the week with stellar offensive numbers. Webb sits at third in the conference in hits with 31. The junior has recorded 18 RBIs with five doubles and a triple.

Scouting the Tigers
The Tigers enter the contest 21-5 on the season so far. Amanda Sanchez is leading the offensive efforts batting a .492. Sanchez has recorded 10 doubles, three home runs, and 30 RBIs. Shelbi Sunseri sits just behind Sanchez batting a .467 with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs.

Shelby Wickersham has spent the most amount of time in the circle for LSU with 48.1 innings of work. Wickersham has a 1.30 ERA with 24 strikeouts.
