Chunxi Guo Wins SBC Player of the Week

TROY, Alabama – Troy freshman Chunxi Guo picked up her first Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week award for the women's tennis team after a dominating week, the league office announced Wednesday.
The Trojans earned wins over New Orleans and Nicholls State with Guo clinching the both victories.
"It is a great honor for Chunxi," Troy head coach Rawia Elsisi said. "I am very proud of her strong performance this past weekend and clinching two strong wins for our Trojans."
Guo battled back to win against UNO's Salma Abdelrahimafter after falling behind early. Guo fell in the first set, but rallied to with the next two frames, 6-2, 6-4. On Monday at Nicholls State, Guo swept Lingfeng Gu, 6-3, 7-6, to push her season singles record to 4-3.
In doubles action, Guo and partner Pei Ju Hsieh have been perfect posting a 7-0 record on court two. Guo and Hsieh didn't drop a point last week earning a pair of 6-0 victories.
Troy travels to face Samford on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
