Troy Set to Take On Florida A&M

TROY, Alabama – After an exciting weekend in Orlando, Florida, the Troy softball team prepares for a midweek tilt against Florida A&M on Wednesday. Game one of the doubleheader is set to begin at 4 p.m. (CT).

Last weekend, Troy finished 4-1 in the Diamond 9 Classic with its only loss coming to Missouri. The Trojans are now 7-3 overall with all three losses coming to SEC opponents.

Bailey Taylor led the Trojans offensively after going went 7-for-16 with a walk and two hit by pitches and a .938 slugging percentage. Taylor recorded 11 RBIs with a grand slam and a three-run home run.

Annie Willis picked up two more wins in the circle scattering four hits in ten innings of work. Willis pitched a one-hitter in Troy's win over Stetson. Leeanna Johnson also picked up two more wins this past weekend. Johnson recorded 21 strikeouts in 19.1 innings of work.

Scouting the Rattlers

The Rattlers have started off the season winless with losses to Louisiana Tech, WKU, Missouri State, No. 17 Auburn and Tennessee State.

Leading the offensive effort for the Rattlers is Shakayla Nixon. Nixon is batting a .364 with four hits in 11 at bats and a pair of RBIs.

LeeAnn Hayes and Camryn Fixco have split time in the circle. Hayes has an 6.87 ERA in 17.1 innings of work while Fixco sits at an 7.20 ERA through 11.2 innings of work.
