Notes: Women's Basketball travels to Chattanooga Sunday

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's basketball program is back in action this weekend when they travel to Tennessee to take on the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The Trojans and Mocs will meet on Sunday at 12:30 (CT) inside McKenzie Arena.

Troy enters Sunday's contest on a three-game winning streak after its 79-61 victory over ETSU on Wednesday. With the victory Troy improved to 6-2 on the year and 3-0 in the month of December. The Trojans were led by senior Harriet Winchester who became the eighth Trojan in as many games to lead the team in scoring with 13 points. Winchester also led the team in rebounds (12), assists (3) and blocked shots (2). For the year Jasmine Robinson is pacing the Trojans offensively with 13.3 points per game and 2.9 assists per contest.

Chattanooga Mocs (1-10)

Chattanooga enters Sunday's contest on an 8-game losing streak and with a 1-10 overall record with their lone win coming on Nov. 11 against Liberty. At home this season the Mocs are 0-4. To date Chattanooga has played Purdue at home and then back-to-back games at Cincinnati and No. 8 Louisville. Their last game was Dec. 11 in Brookings, S.D. where the Mocs fell to South Dakota State, 56-71. They were led by Eboni Williams who scored 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Sunday's game will be their first home game since Nov. 27 when they hosted Northern Colorado.

Senior guard Kayla Robinson is just 15 points shy of reach 1,000 points in her career. When she reaches the milestone, she will become just the 23rd player in Troy women's basketball history to reach the feat. She enters Sunday with 985 career points.

• Amber Rivers joins Kayla Robinson on the quest for 1000 career points. The senior has currently scored 913 points in her Troy career and is just 87 points away from becoming the 24th member of the elite group
• Jasmine Robinson has made the biggest jump offensively from last season to this season for Troy. Robinson is averaging a team-best 13.3 points per game after averaging just 6.5 ppg in 2018-19. Her 6.8 ppg improvement is the second-best mark in the Sun Belt, trailing only Teal Battle of Little Rock who has had a 7.3 ppg improvement
• Troy continues to lead the nation in both total rebounds per game (57.63) and offensive rebounds per game (25.4). They also rank 4th nationally free throws made (175) and 12th in scoring offense (81.9)
• When Troy has won the opening tip, this season they have posted a perfect 6-0 record
• Troy picked up its third win in the month of December last Wednesday with a 79-61 victory over ETSU. Troy improved its record in the month of December to 6-1 since the 2018-19 season
• The streak for consecutive games with a new leading scoring has reached eight. Harriet Winchester became the eighth Trojan this season to lead the team in scoring with her season-high 13 points against ETSU
