Women's Basketball falls at No. 10/8 Mississippi State

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Troy women's basketball fell to No. 10/8 Mississippi State on Saturday, 82-122. The Trojans 82 points scored is the third-most points scored against Mississippi State since the 2016-17 season.
The Trojans started the game strong, going toe-to-toe with the 10th ranked Bulldogs on their home court for much of the first quarter. Tiyah Johnson and Jasmine LeBlanc combined to score the first points for Troy early in the contest.
As the first half played out Troy had one of its best shooting performances of the season, connecting on 14 of its 38 shots, including four triples and six free throws for 38 points at the break. On the defensive end Troy held Chloe Bibby, one of MSU's best players, scoreless for the first time in the last two years.
At the half Troy trailed Mississippi State 38-64 but the fight never left the Trojans. Troy came out of the locker room and once again went toe-to-toe with the Bulldogs. In the third quarter, Troy outscored MSU 26-23 behind nine points apiece from Jasmine Robinson and Jasmine LeBlanc while Alexus Dye did work on the boards, grabbing four rebounds.
LeBlanc led the Trojans in scoring with 19 points while Dye led the team in rebounds with 16. Jasmine Robinson join Dye and LeBlanc in double figures with 15. Robinson also added two rebounds and two assists.

Trojan Spotlight
For the second consecutive game Jasmine LeBlanc and Alexus Dye did a little bit of everything for the Trojans. The pair earned double-doubles for the second straight game, becoming the first duo to record double-doubles since Kayla Robinson did it back in 2018. LeBlanc led the Trojans with 15 points while adding 11 rebounds. Dye had 12 points and led the team with 16 points. This was the second straight game that Dye set a career-high in rebounds.
