Men's Tennis Closes out Samford Invite with Strong Performances

TROY, Ala. – Troy closed out the final day of the Samford Invitational on Sunday with yet another impressive showing, picking up five wins across singles and doubles play.

In singles action Christopher Tasker stole the show with a perfect 3-0 weekend. The redshirt junior defeated Sean Presson of Middle Tennessee State in straight sets to complete his undefeated weekend. Not only did Tasker not lose a match this weekend, he didn't lose a set in singles.

Joining Tasker in the singles win column on Sunday were freshman Javier Llinares, who lost set one but battled back to take the final two sets in the contest, Andy Romero and Antonio Selma, who both won in straight sets.

In doubles, the duo of Romero and Trey Whittaker picked up the 6-3 victory over Tulane. Whittaker had a solid weekend in doubles earning three victories, two with Selma and one with Romero.
