TROY, Alabama – Troy volleyball is back in Trojan Arena this weekend as it plays host to Georgia State and Georgia Southern on Friday and Sunday, respectively. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday and 12:30 p.m. Sunday with both games broadcast live on ESPN+.
Troy (6-9, 0-2) enters back into friendly territory after three straight on the road, returning with a 1-2 record from the road trip – a record that could have easily been flipped. The Trojans swept Alabama State before dropping close matches at Arkansas State and Little Rock.
The young Trojan squad has continued to impress statistically, as individuals rank at or near the top of the Sun Belt is multiple categories this season. Freshman Amara Anderson is the most impressive of these, however, as she ranks eighth nationally while also leading the conference with 637 assists this season.
Georgia State (3-8, 0-1) and Georgia Southern (4-10, 0-1) both dropped their lone conference match last weekend to Appalachian State. The two schools were also scheduled to play Coastal Carolina, but the games were cancelled due to Hurricane Florence.
