Fifth meeting: South Carolina leads the all-time series 4-0.
Facing South Carolina (3-1) for the fifth time, the Trojans are aiming to secure their first-ever win against the Gamecocks. South Carolina enters Sunday's contest sitting at 3-1, after sweeping UNCG and Northeastern to open the year. Earlier this week in the SEC/Big 10 Challenge, the Gamecocks rallied to defeat Michigan in five sets but fell to Michigan State in three sets the following day.
Second-year middle blocker Sydney Davis anchors the Gamecocks on defense, as she ranks fourth in the country in total blocks with 25 and 15th in blocks/set at a 1.79 rate. As a team, South Carolina's offense is hitting at a .267 clip and rank 18th in the nation with 3.00 blocks/set.
K(ill)ina Calvillo
The Trojans' third-year standout received the Sun Belt's Offensive Player of the Week honor following a stellar three-match outing. The San Antonio native has posted 31 kills on .470 hitting and has yet to record an attack error.
Calvillo notched double-digit kills in all three matches to open the 2026 season, highlighted by an 11-kill performance on .611 (11/0/18) hitting against Mercer in the season opener. With the honor, Calvillo became the sixth different Trojan to receive a Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week nod.
