TROY, Alabama – Troy freshman outfielder Rigsby Mosley collected yet another postseason honor Monday morning as he was named a second team Freshman All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
The honor comes as his second All-American award this year, as he was named a Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American last week – the school's first Freshman All-American since Reid Long in 2015. He and teammate Joey Denison became the first upperclassman/freshman duo to receive All-American honors in the same season in Troy history.
Mosley, the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and a second team All-Sun Belt selection, batted .322 on the season with 12 doubles, five triples, five homers and 51 RBI.
A native of Maitland, Fla., he finished in a tie for fourth in the conference in triples, posted the eighth-best batting average and drove in the eighth-most runs, as well – his triple total also ranks sixth on the school single-season record list.
