Softball Ready for SBC Tournament Run

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana- The No. 5 seeded Troy Trojans (30-24, 14-13 SBC) are set to to face No. 8 ULM (24-26, 10-15 SBC) in a pivotal single elimination matchup in game one of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. First pitch is slated for 10 a.m., on Wednesday, May 9 at Lamson Park.

All tournament games will be aired on ESPN+ with Drew Fellios and Francesca Ena on the call.

Both teams enter the tournament looking to snap a three-game losing skid. The Trojans are coming off a few tough losses to South Alabama, while the Warhawks fell to Louisiana in the final games of the regular season.

Hot off the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors, Troy pitcher Annie Willis looks to lead the top-20 Trojan defense over the league-leading ULM offense.

Katie Webb and Logan Calhoun, both named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team, pace the Trojans at the plate this season. Webb leads in most offensive categories with .341 batting average, 60 hits, a Sun Belt high 14 doubles, and 37 RBI. Calhoun is not far behind with 60 hits and 13 doubles. Her 44 runs scored rank second in the league.

ULM's Sydney McKay leads the Warhawks offensively with .408 average, 75 hits and 47 runs, all Sun Belt-highs. Jayden Mount has added 53 hits, 42 runs and 30 RBI. In the circle for the Warhawks, Paige Murray has toed the rubber for most of the games and enters the tournament with a 4.21 ERA with 64 strikeouts and a 13-13 record.

Junior pitcher Peyton Glover leads the Sun Belt and ranks 12^th in the country with five saves on the season.
Stephanie Snyder leads the team with seven home runs and her five sacrifice flies rank 12^th nationally and first in the conference.
Troy's fifth seeding is the highest since it was selected as the fourth seed in 2015.
