Troy Captures Three Event Titles at Sun Belt Championships

SAN MARCOS – Amir Harris, Precious Ogba and the men's 4x100 meter relay team each represented Troy at the top of the podium at the 2018 Sun Belt Outdoor Championships hosted by Texas State at the Bobcat Track and Field Complex.
The freshman Harris won the 400-meter dash with a personal-best 46.10-second finish in the race. He was followed closely by teammate Jared Hayes, who came across at 46.43 seconds to sweep the top two spots for the Trojans.
Another freshman, Ogba, brought home the gold medal in the women's 400-meter dash. She finished in 53.66 seconds to set a personal-best, as well.
The 4x100-meter relay team wrapped up the event victories for the Trojans at the conference championships. Composed of Jared Hayes, Kewin Delis, Cameron Rice and Amir Harris, the squad finished with a blazing 39.85-second time to capture the title.
Overall, the men's team brought home a fourth-place finish and the women finished in sixth at the championships this weekend. Numerous individuals medaled in their respective events outside of the three championship performances.
