PHILADELPHIA – Troy outdoor track and field ended its final regular season meet with a bang this weekend at the historic Penn Relays.
Â
Competing in the oldest and longest-running track and field meet in the country against some of the top competition nationally, the Trojans were able to compete and bring home several top eight finishes.
Â
The top finish of the day was by Titus Sizemore, who leaped out to 2.08 meters in the high jump to bring home a fourth-place finish in the collegiate division.
Â
Riley Schwietz and Indiya Summerville each turned in solid performances, also. Schwietz set a new personal record with a 44.74-meter javelin throw and came away with fifth in the event. Meanwhile, Summerville threw a 14.64-meter shot put to finish seventh.
Â
The relay teams continued their string of success with three teams making the finals in their respective events. The men's 4x400-meter relay team finished sixth in the finals with a time of 3:11.30 and the 4x100-meter team ran the fifth-fastest qualifying time to advance. On the women's side, the 4x400 team placed eighth with a 3:41.47-minute run.
Â
Next up for the squad is the 2018 Sun Belt Outdoor Championships in San Marcos, Texas, from May 11-13.
