2018 Troy Soccer Schedule Released

TROY, Alabama –Troy soccer will play seven home games in 2018 featuring two in the Trojan Classic along with five Sun Belt Conference matches as head coach Ged O'Connor announced the Trojans' schedule on Monday.
"Our non-conference schedule will challenge our team and prepare us for a tough conference season," O'Connor said. "Our league is always tough, and 2018 will be no different."
The Trojans will kick off the season in Sunshine State with matches against Jacksonville (Aug. 17) and Florida State (Aug. 20). Last season the Seminoles finished ranked 15thin the nation. Troy and Florida State have played in each of the last two seasons.
Troy opens its home slate with games against Kennesaw State (Aug. 24) and Chattanooga (Aug. 26) in the Trojan Classic before taking part in the Jaguar Classic in Mobile where the team will square off with LSU (Aug. 30) and Ole Miss (Sept. 2).
Road games at Jacksonville State (Sept. 4), Tennessee Tech (Sept. 7) and Alabama (Sept. 9) send the Trojans into their Sun Belt Conference opener against Louisiana (Sept. 14). A trip to Florence, Ala., to face Division I newcomer North Alabama (Sept. 16) wraps up non-conference play.
The Trojans host Appalachian State (Sept. 21), Coastal Carolina (Sept. 23), Arkansas State (Oct. 12) and Texas State (Oct. 14) in league play.
Last year in O'Connor's first season, Troy finished 8-10-2 overall with a 6-4 mark in Sun Belt play. The Trojans were second in the league with 35 goals scored, tied for sixth-most in program history. Times for all games will be announced later.
