Track and Field Returns to Auburn

TROY, Alabama – Troy outdoor is making a return trip to Auburn this weekend for the War Eagle Invitational Friday and Saturday.
Alabama, Cincinnati, Indiana, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Virginia Tech and Yale are some of the notable names competing alongside the Trojans at the invitational – starting at 2 p.m. Friday and wrapping up at 4:45 Saturday afternoon.
The Trojans competed at the Tiger Track Classic on the Plains last weekend and experienced widespread success, especially in breaking school and personal records.
Senior Riley Schwietz has been on fire as of late, breaking Troy's school heptathlon record by recording 5,131 points and setting personal-bests in the high jump with a 1.53-meter leap and in the shot put with an 11.81-meter toss last weekend.
To follow that up, the women's 4x400-meter relay team – Precious Ogba, Tiarra Bailey, Alexandria Rankin and Madison Kennedy – set a new school record with a 3:43.91 time to finish third and will look to carry that over to this weekend.

• Riley Schwietz has been on fire as of late, winning her first collegiate event last weekend and breaking the school record in the heptathlon this weekend.
• Five returning Trojans have NCAA postseason experience entering this year. Junior Hakim Montgomery has earned a trip in each of his first two seasons.
• Troy indoor track and field placed fifth at the conference championships in February, tying for the highest finish in program history – finished fifth twice before.
• No days off. The Trojans will compete in at least one meet each weekend from March 16 until the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships in San Marcos, Texas, May 11-13.
