Troy Hosts Coastal Carolina; Game Times Shuffled

GAME NOTES
TROY, Alabama- Troy softball (24-17, 8-7 SBC) is set to host a three-game conference series with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. Due to inclement weather in the forecast, game times have been moved up. A doubleheader will be played on Friday, April 13 at 3:30 and 5:30 CT, and series finale will be Saturday, April 14 at noon.

Troy is riding a four-game win streak after sweeping Appalachian State and following up with a midweek win over in-state foe UAB on Wednesday. Troy has plated a total of 43 runs in its last four games.

Sophomores Katie Webb and Logan Calhoun have been the most productive at the plate for the Trojans, with 50 hits each. Webb leads with a .370 average, while Calhoun has posted .350. Annie Willis and Peyton Glover continue to be strong in the circle for the Trojans. Willis leads the team with 12 wins and a 2.02 ERA through 107.2 innings of work. Glover's four saves on the year is a Sun Belt-high, while she leads the team with 87 strikeouts.

Coastal Carolina makes the trip south at 22-20 overall and 5-10 in the conference. They are coming off two midweek wins against Duke and UNC-Wilmington, as well as a series sweep against Georgia Southern. The Chanticleers lead the country with an impressive 60 home runs this season.

Freshman Courtney Dean has been the powerhouse at the plate, batting .371 with 39 hits, 10 of which have been home runs, and a team-high 32 RBI. In the circle, freshman Kaitlin Beasley-Polko is the ace working with 122 strikeouts through 132.0 innings of work. She has given up 118 hits and has allowed 75 runs.

- Seven Trojans have multiple home runs this season, led by Webb, Snyder and Hussey with five, and three other players have also added a long ball this season.
- Â Junior catcher Kaylee Hussey is the reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week following her outstanding performance in the Appalachian State series. She finished the weekend with .714 average, two home runs, one double, 15 putouts and a slugging percentage of 1.714
- Â Troy ranks second in the Sun Belt in runs scored (207), hits (315), and RBI (185), while they lead with 57 doubles and are fourth in the Sun Belt with 30 home runs.
- Â Troy continues to dominate defensively, posting the 12th best fielding percentage in the nation through 41 games and the best in the Sun Belt (0.977).
