Alexander Leads Troy on Day One of Tiger Invitational

OPELIKA, Alabama – Ike Alexander carded three birdies and fired a 2-over 74 to lead Troy in Sunday's opening round of the Tiger Invitational at the Grand National Lakes Course. Troy is tied for 14th place at 14-over par but the Trojans are just six shots behind a group tied for seventh.
Alexander made the turn at 2-over par with three bogeys and a birdie and then found himself at 4-over at the par-5 fourth. However, he dropped back-to-back birdies on No. 6 and No. 7 to finish the day at 2-over and tied for 36th place.
Dean Martin is just a shot behind his teammate in a tie for 40th after carding birdies on No. 16 and No. 7 en route to a round of 75. Playing for the first time since September, Mac Murphy shot a 4-over 76 with a pair of birdies to sit tied for 53rd place.
No. 9 Auburn holds a 3-shot lead over Kennesaw State, while Mississippi State, Maryland and Charlotte round out the top five.
Connor Futrell is tied for 64th place overall after a pair of birdies and a 5-over 77 and Calum Masters is tied for 77th place following an opening-round 79.
Troy will be in the second wave of teams off the back nine for Monday's second round. The Trojans along with UNC Wilmington and Chattanooga will tee off beginning at 8:30 a.m.
