Women’s Tennis Resumes Home Stand Against Nicholls State

TROY, Alabama- After a week off, the women's tennis team (0-6) returns to action at the Lunsford Tennis Complex as it hosts Nicholls State on Saturday at 11 a.m.
The Trojans are looking for their first win of the season against the Colonels, after starting the season 0-6. In their last outing, the Trojans fell to conference foe ULM and UNF 5-2 in the first home matches of the season.
Senior Efriliyah Herlina leads the squad with 14 wins during the fall and spring seasons, but it is freshman Pei Ju Hsieh who leads with two wins in dual match play. Duo Sanae Ohta and Nancy Karaky have paced the team on the doubles courts with 13 overall wins.
Nicholls State enters the matchup at 4-2 on the season, only falling to LSU and Abilene Christian. Sophomore Mariia Kozachok leads with a 5-1 overall record, playing all of her matches on court three.
This will be the final home match for the Trojans before embarking on a seven match road swing. The team will return to the Lunsford Tennis Complex on March 30 and April 3 to take on Alabama A&M and Alabama State. Troy will close out conference play in Atlanta taking on Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State.
