TALLAHASEE, Fla. – After winning the first match of the season on Friday, Troy was unable to capitalize on the success with a narrow 4-3 loss to Stetson on Saturday in Tallahassee, Fla.

Things started out well in Troy's (1-5) favor as the Trojans took the double point thanks to a 6-3 win from Mustapha Belcora and Oskar Michalek and a 6-2 victory from the combination of Andy Lau and Amer Bedwan.

Singles play was the difference as Troy battled but could not overcome Stetson (6-2). Jiaqi Duan pulled out a 6-2, 6-4 win and Jorge Poyatos gutted through a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 win, but that would be the end of the victories for the Trojans.

Michalek had a narrow loss at 7-5, 6-3 and Bedwan also fell narrowly at 7-6, 6-3, but Lau was handily defeated 6-2, 6-0 while Belcora lost 6-2 in straight sets to clinch the victory for Stetson.
