Troy Wins First Home Match Of Dual Season

TROY, Ala. – In the first home match of the 2017-18 season for Troy men's tennis, the Trojans made quick work of Point University in a dominating 7-0 victory on Wednesday afternoon.

Troy (2-5) was able to secure the doubles point quickly as all three teams won with Amer Bedwan and Shaaz Peerani having the biggest edge at 6-2. Mustapha Belcora and Oskar Michalek earned a 6-4 victory while Pelayo Antuna and Amer Bedwan split the difference with a 6-3 win.

Singles play went the same route as only two sets went three sets as Troy went undefeated in singles play for the first time this season. The freshman Antuna had his most impressive outing of the year with a 6-1, 6-2 win.

Bedwan was able to pick up a 6-3, 6-1 win while Jorge Poyatos won his match 6-3 in straight sets to remain a perfect 3-0 to start his dual career. For more information on Troy men's tennis, visit TroyTrojans.com
