Troy Tripped Up At Southern Miss After Delays

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The slow start to the spring season continued as Troy men's tennis was unable to pick up the first win of the season following a 6-1 loss at Southern Miss on Tuesday after multiple rain delays.

The Trojans (0-4) made it competitive in singles play as three of the six contests went to three sets, but Mustapha Belcora was the only one able to prevail as he took his set 6-3, 6-7, 10-5.

Pelayo Antuna rallied after dropping the first set 2-6 to win 6-2, but the score flipped again in the third set as he dropped the decisive battle 6-2. Jiaqi Duan won his first set 6-4 but then fell 2-6, 3-6 in the ensuing sets.

Troy dropped all three doubles matches with Oskar Michalek and Amer Bedwan being the closest with a 4-6 loss.
